Connect ChatGPT to Bueggio HR

Before you start

• ✓ A Bueggio HR account. Any role works: employee, manager or admin. ChatGPT will act with your permissions.
• ✓ ChatGPT on the web (chatgpt.com) with a plan that allows custom MCP servers: Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu. You add the server from the browser.
• ✓ On a Business, Enterprise or Edu workspace, custom MCP servers follow your workspace's policies: if you don't see the option, ask your ChatGPT admin to allow it.
• ✓ If your company enforces two-factor authentication, enable it on your Bueggio HR profile first: the connection uses the same security rules as the app.

Add Bueggio HR to ChatGPT

   Open your plugins

   In ChatGPT on the web, go to chatgpt.com/plugins.

   Add a custom MCP server

   Click the + button, then Add custom MCP server. Name it Bueggio HR and add a short description, for example “Staff leave: who's off, balances, bookings and approvals”: ChatGPT reads it to know when to use the plugin.

   Paste the address

   Under Connection, paste https://www.bueggiohr.eu/mcp as the Server URL.

   Choose OAuth

   For Authentication, pick OAuth and leave any client ID and secret fields empty: ChatGPT registers itself with Bueggio HR automatically.

   Confirm and create

   Read the risk warning ChatGPT shows for every custom server, tick I understand and want to continue, then click Create as a plugin. ChatGPT lists the Bueggio HR tools it found.

   Install and sign in

   Open your personal plugins, select Bueggio HR and install it with the + button. When ChatGPT asks, sign in to Bueggio HR (same credentials as always, or Google/Microsoft) and click Authorize on the consent screen.

   Use it in a chat

   Start a new conversation, type @ in the message box and pick Bueggio HR, then ask. If the plugin doesn't show up, switch the tab at the top of the ChatGPT homepage from Chat to Work.

ChatGPT asks before it writes

Bueggio HR marks every tool as reading or writing, and ChatGPT uses that: questions like who's off or how many days you have left run straight away, while anything that changes data (booking, cancelling, approving, locking dates) first shows you a confirmation with the exact details it will send. You can expand any tool call to see the full input and output.

ChatGPT can remember your approval for the rest of a conversation. Do that only when you're comfortable with it acting without asking again; a new conversation always asks again.

What ChatGPT can do (and what it can't)

Once connected, ChatGPT knows today's date and your company's leave types, and you can name people as you would to a colleague. It can check who's away, look up balances (including ROL and RTT banks), go through leave history and the details of a request, show public holidays and locked dates, answer org chart questions (who reports to whom), simulate the cost of a booking, and book or cancel time off. Approvers can also approve or decline pending requests, see their team's balances and lock dates for their departments. Admins can also export the payroll month, invite people, update job titles, managers, departments and allowances, and add closure days.

The connection acts as you, with your role: it only sees the actions you're allowed to take, an employee books only for themselves, and every booking goes through your company's normal approval flow. Every action lands in the audit trail under your name. Assistants can never deactivate or erase people.

Security and privacy

• ✓ Standard OAuth 2.1 with PKCE: you authorize on our page, your password is never shared with ChatGPT.
• ✓ Access tokens are stored only as cryptographic hashes and expire automatically.
• ✓ What ChatGPT reads from Bueggio HR becomes part of your conversation with OpenAI, under your ChatGPT plan's data settings. Ask only for what you need.
• ✓ Disconnect anytime from the plugin's settings in ChatGPT; administrators can also revoke any connected assistant in Settings → Integrations.
