Frequently asked questions

What is a bridge day?

A bridge day is a working day you book off between a public holiday and a weekend, or between two holidays. Booking it welds the days around it into one long break: when a holiday falls on a Tuesday, taking the Monday turns it into a four-day weekend for a single day of leave.

How does the planner find the best bridges?

It loads the public holidays of the selected country, maps every block of days you already have off, and finds the cheapest working days that connect those blocks. Suggestions are ranked by return: consecutive days off gained per leave day booked.

Which countries and regions are covered?

45+ countries. Where holidays differ by region (Spain, Italy, France, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia and Germany) you can pick a regional calendar, and substitute days are included where a country observes them.

I don't work Monday to Friday. Does it still work?

Yes. Change the working week in the calculator: bridges are computed from your actual days off, so part-time patterns and weekend work are handled correctly.

Is it free? What happens to my data?

Completely free, no sign-up. The calculation runs from the parameters in the address bar and nothing is stored: no account, no tracking, no personal data. That privacy-first approach is the same one behind Bueggio HR itself.

How do I stop the whole team booking the same bridge?

The best bridges are obvious, so everyone asks for the same days. Bueggio HR shows every request on a shared wall chart, routes it to the right approver and can cap how many people in a department are away on the same day.
